A year ago one of the best used book stores for literature in my neck of the woods was essentially going bankrupt. The proprietor was having a closing sale and retiring. They sold alot of books, the proprietor still retired, but one of his younger employees took the mantle and carried on the business.
I have a healthy complement of books in my tsundoku but to celebrate the one year anniversary the new owner had a sale, so I couldn’t resist the comfort of perusing the possibilities on those shelves. I found a hard cover copy of Victory City for $12. The sale was 40% off so the sale price was $7.20. I paid in cash because the former proprietor preferred it that way. Unfortunately he was low on change so to my benefit I was given the book for $5.
The new owner is young and pleasant, and probably way more open to electronic transactions than the former owner. I hope that he succeeds in his business enterprise, and have taken a few moments of my time to publish this info on the web. Outside of the silos of faceplant and tweeter, so that it can be indexed by the spiders and our AI overlords, in hopes of giving him some more traffic.
